DOGATHON 12th August 2007

12th August holds the annual dogathon event at UPM. It started at 7am and ends at 2pm, or so we assume. However like all events that are held outdoors, it is dictated by weather. So by 12.30pm, dark clouds were looming over the horizon and approaching us fast. 10 minutes later, it started to drizzle. It is fortunate that by the time we got to the car, the heavens open and started to pour down! We were dry but not everyone was that lucky. It was obvious that the day ended wet. :)

Before the rain, the event was quite interesting. It was my first dogathon and I was volunteering behind the PAWS booth, offering up consultation for massage service and also the sale of my dog cookies. All proceeds went to PAWS. My husband and I plus our two dogs decided to take a quick walk round the event and we spotted a group of HUSKIES (a very popular breed these days), we even spotted a chihuahua pup which was TINY! (Pictured above.)There were dog agility event and a look a like event plus a whole host of contest. Unfortunately, not everything went to plan and price giving was cut short due to the rain.

As well, we cannot control the weather but at least we had fun. The next event, I will have a booth at ONE UTAMA, CENTRAL PARK on the 9th September 2007 promoting the massage and sale of some goodies for your K9s. So catch me there!
